The PP food tray is a food-grade, thermoformed food container that holds fresh, frozen, and baked goods and, unlike PET, takes heat. It goes in the microwave and takes hot-fill and warm assembly up to around 120 C, so the same pack fills hot and reheats at home. As a heat-seal food tray it closes with a lidding film for a retail-ready seal.

Why PP, not PET
Choose PP when the pack sees heat. PP stays stable through the microwave, hot-fill, and warm summer transit up to around 120 C, while PET softens with heat and suits cold packs only. A microwavable food tray in PP lets a bakery or deli fill warm and lets the shopper reheat in the same tray, which PET cannot do safely.
Heat-seal and lidding
The tray closes on a tray sealer with a heat-seal lidding film matched to PP, giving a clean, tamper-evident seal. A modified-atmosphere gas flush extends shelf life for meat and fish, and an anti-fog film or finish keeps produce and chilled goods clear. A snap-on PP lid is an option for reusable or takeaway formats.
Food-grade and compliance
The tray is made from virgin, food-contact PP, with no regrind in food quotes. We match the certification your market needs, GB 4806.7 for China, FDA 21 CFR for the US, or EU 1935/2004, so the pack clears customs and audits. Tell us the food type, fill temperature, and destination and we confirm the right grade.
Applications
The fresh food tray suits supermarket meat and fish, salmon and sashimi, skewers, deli and ready meals, plus bakery items like egg tarts and egg rolls. The cavities hold each portion neatly, the tray takes a hot fill or a reheat, and it heat-seals or lids for a clean retail pack that travels and displays well.

FAQ
Is the tray microwave and hot-fill safe? Yes. Food-grade PP holds up in the microwave and takes hot-fill and warm assembly up to around 120 C. It is not for a hot oven or temperatures above that. Tell us your fill and reheat temperatures and we confirm the tray suits them.
Can you seal a lidding film to it? Yes. The tray is designed for a PP-compatible heat-seal film on a standard tray sealer, with an optional modified-atmosphere gas flush and anti-fog. Choose an easy-peel or a lock seal, and we match the film to your line and product.
PP or PET, which should I choose? Choose PP for anything that sees heat, since it is microwave and hot-fill safe. Choose clear PET for cold packs that need maximum clarity, such as produce boxes and cold deli. Tell us the fill and use temperature and we quote the right sheet.
What is a realistic order quantity? There is no strict minimum, but the forming tool and sheet setup spread over the run, so small batches cost more per piece and price drops sharply with volume. Tell us your annual volume and we advise the break points.
